"Some Successful Features that are Present in Poems by Emily Dickinson and Ada Limon"

There are many qualities that contribute to making a good poem. Eastwood will discuss an important three in "There's a Certain Slant of Light" (Emily Dickinson) and "The Leash" (Ada Limon). 

Robert Eastwood’s work appeared most recently in 3Elements Review, West Texas Literary Review, Up the Staircase Quarterly, Poet Lore, Triggerfish Literary Review, Sky Island Journal, and Sow’s Ear Poetry Review. He has three chapbooks and four published books: Snare (Broadstone Books), Romer (Etuscan Books), Locus Loci (Main Street Rag), and Cantata Angeleno (Broadstone Books). He has three Pushcart nominations. Eastwood graduated from C.S.U.L.A. and the Secondary Teaching Program at Saint Mary’s College. Before teaching high school and becoming a poet he worked for over three decades as a manager in the telecommunications industry  He also serves on the poetry staff of The MacGuffin Readerand is a coordinator for the Poets' Society writing group. 

The presentation will be followed by an open mic.

Deborah will also be the zoom host for the meeting and will send out the Zoom link on Saturday morning.
