Louise Moises Will Read From

Peace Is a Pelican

Louise will be reading selections from the chapbook as well as several new poems.

The poems in this collection are based on life experiences and the poet’s interaction with nature.  The poem Peace Is…from which the title of the chapbook is derived was a grand prize-winner in the Dancing Poetry Contest, Artist Embassy International.

Louise Moises was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where she still resides. She is a graduate of San Jose State majoring in Speech and Drama with an emphasis on the oral interpretation of literature.  She has been a puppeteer, storyteller, teacher, and owner of an antiquarian bookshop.  She began seriously writing poetry in 2017 as a means of dealing with grief but has since expanded to incorporate all themes that touch her life. Her poems have been published in many anthologies both in print and online including High Shelf Press, Wingless Dreamer, Unlimited Literature, Carquinez Review, Tiny Seed, Flying Catsup, Ina Coolbrith Circle Gatherings et. al. Louise has been a featured reader on several Zoom poetry sites including Benicia First Tuesdays, Sacred Grounds, Riverside Poets, and at various churches and schools. Her readings are available on YouTube. Her poems have earned numerous awards from the Marin, Alameda and San Mateo County Fairs, the Ina Coolbrith Circle, Voices of Lincoln, and Artist Embassy International.

Her first chapbook, Peace Is a Pelican, is available from the publisher, Finishing Line Press and from Amazon

After Loise's Presentation There Will Be An Open Mic
