She will read from her recent books, Astronauts and The Trouble with New England Girls.
Amy will also discuss the complexities of revealing family secrets in poetry.
Amy Miller’s Astronauts won the 2022 Chad Walsh Chapbook Prize from Beloit Poetry Journal, and her full-length collection The Trouble with New England Girls won the 2017 Louis Award from Concrete Wolf Press. Her poems have appeared in Barrow Street, Copper Nickel, Narrative, Rattle, Tupelo Quarterly, ZYZZYVA, and numerous anthologies. She received an Oregon Literary Fellowship in 2021; the 2022 Coniston Prize from Radar, judged by Dorianne Laux; the Cultural Center of Cape Cod National Poetry Prize, judged by Tony Hoagland; and is a past Grand Prize winner at the Poets’ Dinner. Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and Western Massachusetts, she lives in Ashland, Oregon, where she works for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
