Our Third Program For the Year is November 19th

A Zoom Meeting With Introduction By

Gayle Eleanor

Hosted by Deborah Schmidt

Our Guest Speaker Is Evie Groch

Who Will Read From Her New Book

Half the Hurricanes

In Half the Hurricanes, award-winning poet Evie Groch takes the reader on a journey into the joys, sorrows, and mysteries of life on this good green earth. Written with wit and wisdom, these poems display her love of language and explore deep themes of travel, immigration justice and nature.

Evie Groch, Ed.D. is a Vice-President of the Ina Coolbrith Circle, and a Field Supervisor/Mentor for new administrators in Graduate Schools of Education.  Her opinion pieces, humor, poems, short stories, and memoir vignettes, along with other articles, have been published in the New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Contra Costa Times, in anthologies and on many online venues. The themes of travel, language, immigration, and justice are special for her since she herself is an immigrant who speaks several languages.
